Skyscanner used a number of Firebase features across Android and iOS, including analytics, dynamic links and crash reporting. With an overarching aim to make travel booking as easy as possible, user feedback through Firebase allowed the travel search site to make constant improvements to their apps.
Skyscanner replaced a legacy user feedback component with the help of Firebase Realtime Database in under ten hours. It used Firebase Analytics to obtain an anonymised overview of user behaviour, including how feedback activity in the app relates to other actions.
The travel search site has also used Firebase to assist in social sharing and a customized onboarding experience.
In the past year Skyscanner has seen mobile visitors grow 60%, accounting for 59% of all visitors. Its apps have been downloaded over 40m times.
