I had a hotel staff barge in without any sign and I was waring my panties only. If it was ladies only in the room, this wouldn't be allowed.
But room size was big. Bed sheets, you need to expect there are no blanket. The Blanket they provide just have sheet cover. I don't know if this is clean or not.
Overall, I didn't like the place. I found are there are more fine hotels near the train station and more center of the city.

Great Hot Spring water quality
立地も別府駅から徒歩10分ほどの場所にあり、便利です。とにかくお湯がゆるっとしていて、美容には非常に良い温泉だと思います。特に女性にお薦めです。建物自体は昔ながらの別府温泉という雰囲気です。非常に満足しました。
If you care about the water quality, I think this is the "Must" visit place in Beppu. It is good for your skin and it feels like you are taking a bath in the lotion water and it is good for beauty. I recommend especially for woman. The building itself is a traditional one and not so new but have a good taste of a Hot Spring old town.
