Also there are some tips that you'd better check in before the night time, otherwise the dog of the owner may scared you at night 🤣 But the owner will come out if the dog barking. And just like most of the other hotel, you need to bring your own toothbrush, shampoo and hairdryer.
In front of the guesthouse is a ww2 factory, they say will be a museum in the future, and some historical old wall hundred years ago which was used to agonist Mymmar invader

Not wanting to deal with potentially dangerous dogs every time we enter the property, we called the owner and asked to cancel the booking. He came out and refused to give a refund and refused to accept that his dogs were aggressive…
On the roads near the guesthouse there are also lots of angry dogs at the houses nearby who will run at you aggressively but most of them are chained up.
Extra info: I have lived in Asia for almost half a decade and am fairly used to street dogs etc. These ones were angry (their purpose is to protect the house from strangers, which all hotel guests will be…)
TLDR: Angry aggressive dogs, do not stay!

Paradise on the river kwai
The owner are amazing friendly people with 5 good dogs.
Room are very clean and basic, but everything that's needed.
The common area is a lovely shaded spot to sit if it gets too hot.

Staff are fabulous
I was a little put out that the room has no warm water and there are no plug points in the room so charging your items is resigned to leaving them in the common area, although the owner had a solution for this and had an extension cord which ran all the way to my room through the window.
The price is good and compared to other options and is the closest riverside accommodation to the bus station.
I want to thank the owner for all of his help during my stay.
