Don't even ponder a moment longer...this is a perfect hotel.
Easy walk to most theaters and restaurants including Dim Sum.
Safe.
Great staff to a person.

So So

We stayed for my wife's birthday. First, we booked a junior suite. Plenty of room (although technically not a suit, just a large room with a badly placed sofa), great bathroom with super deep bath and television to watch as you soak. Now the reason for the low mark. As I said, this was for my wife's birthday but they didn't exactly go the extra mile. On her birthday, they left two macarons on a plate with some cream. Ok, fine. We actually got back to the hotel early as we got drenched in a down pour and it was already there, sitting on a table. If we had got back later as planned, it would have been sitting out for hours in a warm room. The blurb says you get a 'gift' when you arrive. This seemed to be 6 small chocolates. Since they don't provide tea and coffee (or even free biscuits) in the room, 2 small chocolates a day wasn't exactly generous. Non of this would have perhaps bothered me, as I got exactly what I paid for, if it wasn't for what they added to my bill. I booked in October for a set price. When I paid on check in, they had added over £60. I didn't notice at first and went back later to reception to ask why, they said that on 1st of December, they had decided to add a 'gratuity' to the bill. I wasn't informed of this, either by email in advance, or when I paid. This was extremely annoying, especially as a gratuity should be for good service, which I didn't feel I received. Just adding it to the bill is simply a price rise. I asked for it to be taken off but I still haven't received a refund. In previous years we have stayed a the Savoy and the Langham, amongst others. This didn't come even close to those.

Our favorite hotel on earth

This is our favorite hotel anywhere. It has everything. Innovative, beautiful art everywhere. Extremely large, comfortable rooms with huge bathrooms (including the best showers with perfect temperature control and water pressure), great beds, and temperature control. Top quality service. Very good restaurant and bar. Lobby is ideal for visiting with friends. Location is perfect. Short walk to the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus. Depending on when you go, this could be very expensive but always worth it.

Great stay, great location for walking!

Lovely stay, great service, wonderful location! We received a complimentary upgrade, which was so nice since we ended up having our son stay with us for a couple of nights on a rollaway. The room was nice sized and very comfortable, the bed was very plush and the blackout curtains had us sleeping very late! The breakfasts were amazing with great service- I would totally recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat!
