Amazing Guest House with Beautiful Rooms and Great Service

This guest house is so beautifully decorated, the rooms are well appointed and had everything we needed. Also at night you could not hear anyone moving about.
Alltanova is right along the main road so it means it’s a quick step outside for sunset views, crisp morning walks, or walking to town for dinner.
The breakfast is in a beautiful room and is one of the nicest spreads I have seen at a hotel. The service matches this level of quality as well
Overall just really loved it hear and will stay here again if I ever get the chance to return to Oban.

On arrival we were struggling with the key box and the (presumed) owner came out to help us. His demeanour was neutral at best, although he was quite friendly during the rest of the stay. When we saw the room we were really disappointed at the size and the facilities (coffee maker squeezed into a dark corner behind the coat hangers, broken showerhead). Going by the photos and because we had paid for an upgraded room, we had expected two armchairs. When we rang the bell to complain no-one appeared and when we phoned there was no answer to the two messages we left. The following day, on our return the lady of the house asked if the 'room was OK now'. Strange behaviour. The breakfast was outstanding and well worth the extra £10 each.

The place is right next to the water - unobstructed view. The 0.7 mile walk to center of Oban was nice in good weather but we got wet several time (expected this for October). Public transportation was hard to find so needed our car. Our room was a little small and cramped, but we could see other larger rooms. Check in and parking was a bit of a hassle. Great “Continental breakfast “ that included meats, cheeses, baked goods and more- well worth the modest cost

THE place to stay in Oban

This is a truly excellent hotel in a very picturesque location. The bedrooms are warm comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts are hearty and healthy with beautifully prepared fresh fruit on offer. Carol the host is wonderful. Very personable and engaging
I cannot recommend this place highly enough

Charming old home with Scottish decor right down to the tartan carpet and stag horn lamps and chandeliers! Amazing continental breakfast with local food and lots of choice. Close to the town and walkable.
