The woman refused to give us the code to get into the room; unless I gave her my credit card number.
When I reminded her the account was paid in full for our week stay through Expedia and I wasn't giving her my credit card number, she said "Well you aren't staying here and slammed the phone down on my call.
When I called Expedia to complain and demand my money back, I got an agent on the line, located in a third world country, who didn't understand idioms and the conversation was a waste of my time; when I asked to be transferred to a agent in the United States - he refused to transfer me; instead he said he would call the motel woman and listen to her side of the story.
Well he called the woman, she refused to return my money stating I didn't give 24 hr notice on the cancellation; no mention of her demanding my credit card number and refusing to give the code to enter the room, or that she hung up on me.
Being very dissatisfied and quite angry, I asked to speak to his supervisor. I was transferred to another agent in El Salvador! You could hear the kids and chickens in the background, another waste of my time with nothing to show for it.
So, the woman operating the Gladstone Motel beat me out of my money and I had to find another place to stay $$$$$.
Expedia was no help what so ever.
