Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has one terminal from which your flight will depart. You should arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight departure time, KLM and Czech Airlines have check in desks and self-service check in kiosks at the airport as well as online check in facilities. Easyjet offer online or mobile check in only.
Unlike many airports the majority of the shops and places to eat are located in the Schiphol Plaza, which is before passport control. Here you will find popular brands such as Vila, Victoria’s Secret, GStar, and Espirit alongside book shops, a pharmacy, florists, convenience store, electronics, a chocolate shop and bakeries. When it comes to food and drink you will find AH to go, Balcony Bar, Burger King, Happy Seafood, La Place Express, Multi Vlaai and many more. Once you go into the departures lounge you will find duty free shops, Bread, Café Chocolate, Café Comunal, Bubbles Seafood and Wine Bar and many others. There are some which are open 24 hours a day so whatever time you’re flying you’ll be able to get something to eat.

Vaclav Havel Prague Airport
All flights from Amsterdam to Prague arrive into Terminal 2 at Vaclav Havel Airport, as these are flights within the Schengen zone there is no passport control within this terminal.
Vaclav Havel Airport is 20km away from Prague city centre and to travel from the airport to Prague you can choose to travel by bus, taxis or car rental. The airport does not have a train or metro station however if you wish to travel by metro you can take a shuttle to Nadrazi Veleslavin Metro station on Line A/Green Line.
Buses departing from Prague Airport are Bus 119, Bus 100 and AE (Airport Express) The Airport Express Bus runs from 6.30am to 10pm, departing from the airport every 30 minutes to the main station in Prague, this takes 33 minutes. A journey is 60 CZK per person. Bus 119 runs to Nadrazi Veleslavin Metro station with a journey time of 15 minute and Bus 100 runs to Zličín Station, metro line B with a journey time of 18 minutes. Tickets can be purchased from the information counters in the Arrivals Hall or in cash from the driver.
Taxis are available from outside of the airport arrivals hall, it is recommended to arrange your price before setting off. A typical journey will cost anywhere between 600 and 700 CZK. Car rental companies at the airport include Budget Rent a Car, Avis and Europcar.
What to expect in Prague
Prague is part of the EU but not part of the single European currency, as a result the currency of the Czech Republic is the Czech koruna. Prague is known for offering very cheap city breaks especially when it comes to food, beer, and transport all of which are 50-75% cheaper than Amsterdam. A three course meal for two will cost the equivalent of €22 and a Czech beer is around €1.15.
Prague enjoys warm weather during Spring which is often the best time to visit, hot summers which also happens to be the rainy season where short yet heavy showers of rain should be expected and cold winters with snowfall between November and March.
