Terminal Information – Departing
The departure lounge at Birmingham Airport has plenty to keep you entertained before your flight. You can do a bit of shopping in Superdry, Hugo Boss and Next as well as other high-street labels. Airport favourites such as World Duty Free, WHSmith and Boots all make an appearance. There are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat if you're feeling peckish. Choose from Deli Hub, Giraffe, Costa, Wetherspoons, and the Blanc et Noir champagne bar. For a bit of relaxation you can get a pre-flight manicure from Cloud Nails or check into one of the airport's two lounges (prices start at £21.99* per person).
Terminal Information – Arriving
Aer Lingus, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and SAS flights land at Terminal 1 while KLM, Air France and Flybe land at Terminal 3. The airport has a huge travel hub, called The Station. Follow signs once you clear immigration to reach it. From here you can find a range of buses, trams and trains into the city centre as well as to destinations further afield. Taxi ranks are located outside every terminal, and the journey to the centre of Manchester should set you back around £18. Cabs are metered so prices vary, but there's a list of tariffs at the taxi rank.
Practical Information
We recommend arriving at the airport at least 90 minutes before scheduled departure. If you're flying to Manchester via Glasgow or Dublin you won't need to bring your passport as both cities are within the Common Travel Area. You will need to bring photographic ID such as your driving license for security reasons. Different airlines have different ID requirements, so check the Flybe and Aer Lingus websites before going to the airport. If you're transferring flights on mainland Europe (i.e. Amsterdam, Paris etc.) you will need to show a valid passport as you will be passing through the Schengen zone.
