Your options for cheap flights from Dubai to Phuket expand when you're willing to make a connection. Thai Smile, Bangkok Airways, Aeroflot, Singapore Airlines, Silkair, and Flydubai are some of your carrier choices.
Cheap flights from Dubai to Phuket depart from Dubai International Airport (DXB). This airport has three large terminals: Terminals 1 and 3 are connected via walkways. Terminal 3 is where Emirates is located. Terminal 2, where Flydubai is based, is connected to the rest of the airport via shuttle service. The airport has modern amenities, including fine restaurants, hotels, lounges and stores. Due to the size of DXB, it's recommended that you arrive three hours before your flight departs. Bring your passport and other necessary travel documents with you to pass through security.
The airport that serves Phuket is Phuket International Airport (HKT), which is about 20 miles away from the main city. International flights fly into Terminal 1. If you're on a domestic flight, such as a connecting flight coming in from Bangkok, your gate will be located in Terminal 2.
After flying from Dubai to Phuket, you'll probably want to get settled at your hotel. Some hotels offer shuttle service for their guests for free or for an additional fee. Contact your hotel ahead of time if you'd like to take advantage of this service.
Outside of the terminal, there are both licensed and unlicensed taxis. To use an officially recognised taxi, be sure to stand in line at the taxi stand. The Airport Bus is an economical and safe way to travel too. The stop is outside the arrivals hall, and a bus leaves for the city every hour.
What to Expect When Arriving in Phuket
Adjust your clocks to account for the three-hour time difference. Phuket is ahead of Dubai, so you might find yourself sleeping in on your first few mornings.
There is a currency exchange centre located within the airport terminal. Many of the local establishments only take Thai baht, but you can probably charge expenses incurred at large hotels and restaurants to a credit card. Compared with Dubai, prices should be more reasonable, especially at smaller stores and eateries.
The Weather in Phuket
Phuket is cooler than Dubai in the peak of the summer, but it's warmer in the winter. The highs remain in the low 30s year-round. The rainy season lasts from May to November. September and October each experience more than 20 days of rain.
