There are no direct flights between Glasgow and Newcastle. It's possible to fly indirect from Glasgow-International with Citywing via Isle of Man, British Airways via London, Flybe via Southampton, and KLM via Amsterdam.
Terminal Information – Departing
Glasgow-International Airport has one terminal. The departure lounge is small but has a good selection of places to eat, shop and relax. Free Wi-Fi is available for half an hour for every passenger. If you're in a hurry you can grab a quick snack at Upper Crust or Starbucks. If you've got a lot of time to kill you can sit down for a bigger meal at The Sandpiper pub or the Italian American restaurant Frankie & Benny's. If you're in the mood for a bit of retail therapy, indulge yourself in World Duty Free, Boots or Maplin. There's also a WH Smith for magazines and snacks to enjoy in-flight. There's a soft-play area for little ones, too. If you want to escape the crowds you can check into the UpperDeck executive lounge. The lounge has free Wi-Fi, comfy seats, and a selection of complimentary snacks and drinks.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Newcastle Airport has one terminal. The airport is about six miles away from the city centre and has plenty of public and private transport options. The Metro is the fastest way to reach 'the toon', with a journey time of 20 minutes. Tickets to Monument station cost £3.60.* A number of buses and coaches also run between the airport and the city, but journey time varies based on traffic. Metered cabs are available from the airport's taxi rank, and usually charge about £15* for a trip into the city centre. Practical Information
We recommend arriving at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight is scheduled to depart. If you're flying via Isle of Man, London or Southampton you don't need to bring your passport as all airports are within the Common Travel Area. You will need an official form of photographic ID such as your driving license, NUS card or bus pass. Visit the airline's website for a comprehensive list of acceptable ID types. If you choose to fly via Amsterdam you will need a valid passport as you'll be passing through the Schengen Zone.
