Airlines that fly from London to Genoa
British Airways and Thomas Cook Airlines fly direct to Genoa from London-Gatwick, and Ryanair fly from London-Stansted. There are currently no direct flights to Genoa from London-Southend, London-Luton, London-City or London-Heathrow.
Terminal Information – Departing

From Gatwick: British Airways flights depart from the north terminal while Thomas Cook Airlines fly from the south terminal. Both terminals at Gatwick have a massive range of places to eat and shop. The north terminal has three executive lounges, and the south terminal has one. They're available to passengers on all airlines, regardless of ticket price, as long as you're willing to pay on the door. Prices vary, but tend to be around the £20-25 mark. Give yourself plenty of time to reach your gate: the airport absolutely sprawls.
From Stansted: Stansted Airport only has one terminal. There are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat, ranging from burgers and salads to sushi and hearty British cuisine. You can raise a glass to your holiday at the Halo fizz bar, or escape the hustle and bustle by checking into the business lounge. Shops include World Duty Free, The Body Shop, Hamley's and WH Smith.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Genoa Airport only has one terminal. The VOLABUS connects the airport to the city centre. It calls at Via Cornigliano/Stazione FS, Via Pacinotti/Fiumara, Piazza Acquaverda, De Ferrari/Centro Citta and Brignole FS train station. The full journey takes around 35 minutes and tickets cost €6* (about £4.70). These tickets are valid for one hour and can be used on the city's entire public transport network including buses, metros and funiculars. Car hire at Genoa Airport is available from Auto Europa, Avis, Budget, Sixt, Europcar, Hertz, and Maggiore.
Practical Information
You need a valid passport to fly from London to Genoa. For international flights, we recommend arriving at the airport 90 minutes before scheduled departure. Remember to give yourself extra time to get through security if you're travelling during the school holidays.
What to expect in Genoa
Genoa is one hour ahead of London and the currency is the Euro (€). Genoa is slightly cheaper than London: you can expect to pay about 25% less for meals and 20% less for local beer. Taxis are about half the price that they are in London, so getting back to your hotel after a night out won't be a problem. Genoa has warmer weather than London.
