Airlines that fly from London to Verona
Monarch, British Airways, EasyJet and Ryanair all provide direct flights from London to Verona. Monarch, British Airways and EasyJet flights depart from London Gatwick Airport whilst Ryanair flights depart from London Stansted Airport.
Terminal Information
London Gatwick
There are two terminals at London Gatwick Airport – North and South. British Airways and EasyJet flights to Verona depart from the North Terminal whilst Monarch flights depart from the South Terminal. Passengers on European flights are advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their scheduled flight departure time. Easyjet passengers should be aware that there are no check-in facilities available at the airport and they must check in online up to two hours before the flight.
Both terminals offer an extensive range of facilities for passengers. You’ll find currency exchange desks, duty free stores and a Wi-Fi connection available throughout the airport for up to 90 minutes.
Shops include Boots and WHSmith as well as more exclusive brands like Ted Baker, Harrods and Cath Kidston. There’s a great selection of food and drink venues too with fast food outlets, a Wetherspoon pub and a range of well-known restaurants including Wagamama and Jamie’s Italian.
Stansted Airport
There’s just one terminal at London Stansted Airport. The airport advises passengers to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled flight departure time. Ryanair only offer online or mobile check-in up to two hours before the flight, you will not be able to check-in at the airport.
Passengers can speed up their journey through security and into the departures lounge by purchasing a Fast Track security pass. They are available from kiosks outside the security area and allow you to bypass longer queues.
Once you’re through to the departures lounge, you’ll find a currency exchange, a duty free store and a variety of high street shops selling travel essentials. Food and drink options include Starbucks, Burger King and a Wetherspoon pub.
One hour of free Wi-Fi is on offer at Stansted Airport.
Verona Airport
Verona Airport, also known as Verona Villafranca Airport is 12km from Verona city centre, there are two terminals at Verona Airport, Terminal 1 for departures and Terminal 2 for arrivals. In the arrivals hall, passengers will find a selection of shops, cash machines, tour operators, cafés and a currency exchange. Free unlimited Wi-Fi is also available throughout the airport.
There are various onward travel options from Verona Airport to Verona. To your left as you exit the terminal building, you’ll find a taxi rank. A short walk in this direction will bring you to the car rental centre where companies including Avis, Hertz, Maggiore, Europcar, Sixt, Locauto and Autovia are based.
To your right as you exit the terminal building, you’ll find bus stops for the airport shuttle bus. The Aerobus operates every 20 minutes between 6:30 and 20:30, with less frequent early and late services available too. Services travel to either Verona city centre or Verona Porta Nuova Railway Station.
What to Expect in Verona
Verona enjoys a warm climate with four distinct seasons. In summer, temperatures regularly reach the low thirties, whilst in the winter, they can drop below freezing. There’s a fair bit of rain throughout the year so be sure to pack an umbrella.
