Terminal Information – Departing
This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.
Swiss and Lufthansa depart from Terminal 1 while Air France, KLM and British Airways fly from Terminal 3. Terminal 1 is the larger, newer terminal while Terminal 3 has a more functional environment. Both provide one hour of free Wi-Fi for each customer, and both have the usual airport shops such as Biza Tax & Duty Free, Boots and Dixons Travel. Cape Town is outside the European Union, so you can indulge in a tax free discount. If you're flying from Terminal 1 you can also enjoy discounts on a number of high street stores including Boux Avenue, Monsoon and Fat Face. From coffee shops to gastropubs, restaurants to takeaways, there's something to suit every appetite in both terminals. Again, Terminal 1 has the best variety and even has a bar where you can pour your own beer. Both terminals have an Escape Lounge: if you want to use it book your space early, as it fills up fast. Entry starts at £19.99* which gives you the chance to relax in a peaceful environment with a range of complimentary snacks and drinks to enjoy.
Terminal Information – Arriving
There are three onward transportation options from Cape Town International Airport: taxi, bus or car hire. Taxis are metered: expect to pay about R300-400* (roughly £13-18). The MyCiti bus runs between the airport and the city. To board you need to buy a Myconnect card, which is rechargeable and can be used throughout the city's public transport network. The bus departs the airport every 20 minutes. If you want to rent a car remember to compare with Skyscanner first to get the best prices.
