Practical Information
Jersey is part of the Common Travel Area (along with the UK, Ireland, the Isle of Man and the other Channel Islands). You don't need a passport to fly from Jersey to the UK, but you will need a form of photographic ID such as your driving license. You should arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before your flight is due to depart. If you're travelling during the school holidays or planning to check some luggage into the hold you should give yourself a bit of extra time to navigate longer queues.
What to expect in Jersey
Jersey isn't part of the UK but they use the Pound Sterling. The island is a few degrees warmer than Manchester, both in summer and winter, due to its southerly latitude. Jersey is very rural. There are only two bus services on the island, so we recommend hiring a car if you want to explore. Jersey has a fantastic nightlife, and there are lots of trendy bars and clubs in St Helier. As it's an island, Jersey can be quite expensive. The prices in the pubs are similar to what you would expect to pay in London.
