Jetstar Airways, Qantas, Tigerair Australia and Virgin Australia all fly direct from Melbourne Airport (MEL) to Perth. No airlines are currently offering direct flights from Avalon Airport (AVV) or Essendon Airport (MEB).
Terminal Information – Departing
This is only a guideline. Always check your boarding pass for up-to-date terminal information.
Qantas flights leave from terminal 1, Virgin Australia from terminal 3, and Jetstar Airways and Tigerair Australia depart from terminal 4. All of the terminals have a good selection of places to grab a bite to eat or drink and do a bit of retail therapy while you wait to board your flight. You can choose from coffee bars and smoothie shops or salad bars and artisan pizza restaurants. Free Wi-Fi is available in all of the airport's terminals. This is provided by Melbourne Airport in terminals 3 and 4, while Qantas provide the Wi-Fi service in terminal 1. Baby changing facilities are available throughout the airport too.
Terminal Information – Arriving
Flights from Melbourne land at the domestic terminals, 3 and 4, which are connected under the same roof. Transperth buses 37 and 40 both call at these terminals and offer frequent services from the airport to the city centre. There's also an express shuttle bus which is faster but more expensive. Car hire at Perth Airport is a popular option, especially for travellers who want to get out and see a bit more of Western Australia.
Practical Information
Although this is a domestic flight we recommend British passengers bring their passports anyway for security purposes. Try to arrive at the airport 90 minutes before departure and no later than one hour before. Remember to give yourself extra time if you're checking in a bag.
