Location & convenience

This is as centrally as it gets across from the culture & conference center of Sofia. 2 minute walk to metro that will take you to airport and off the main shopping street with all the nightlife and restaurants one needs. The House is a heritage building modernized with all the amenities a girl needs on her vacation and is safe. Room was beyond expectations for the rate this is a 5-star gem!

Good location and nothing more

The location was very good right next to the Palace of Culture and that's about the only advantage of this place. The room was large enough but not too clean, especially the bathroom. I've had worse in the Balkans but it definitely could have been much better. The entrance can make you wonder what kind of establishment it is and the "reception" looks like one of those place in "storage wars", only worse cause it smells cat urine. They claim to have a restaurant too, I sincerely hope it's not true with these cleaning standards. Still, I only needed a bed for one short night, so it was good enough for this purpose.

Good location bad service

Rooms and toilet are never cleaned and are very dirty.
The owners are friendly, I requested them to clean the room or change it but they never did!

They charged me although I couldn't use their service.

Stay away from those fraudsters! I booked a room but the house was closed. Rang the doorbell several times and nobody answered. Nevertheless, they charged my credit card and refused to issue a refund although I couldn't use their service.

Good price, great location

The main attraction of "The House" was it's great location, a short 5 - 10 minute walk to the downtown strip of fabulous restaurants and to the centre of Sofia itself. The manager and his assistant spoke good English and were very accommodating, offering us advise about places to visit, sights to see etc....
However, the House was rundown and in need of repairs. Our room was small, shabby, clean when we arrived but not cleaned or made up during our stay. At the back of the building our room would normally be quiet, but there was considerable, daily noise from a rear construction site (which will probably finish at some stage).
The breakfast was good, with both hot and cold options available; fresh local honey and jams were delicious.
